old times...

I found this slide whilst clearing out a few things today, it's me and my brother a while ago. Thats him on the right looking cool on his blue and yellow bmx (with matching hat and gloves) and i'm the fat one with, what looks like a brown leather jkt (??) on the kiddies bike.

Life was so simple back then.

(if i can get a clearer pic, i'll post it up)

Documented through camera phone

I was reading the paper in the coffee shop last night and saw this headline, makes me sad that this tends to be the sentiment of greedy local authorities. In an ideal world, it should read- "We've still got plenty of countryside, lets preserve and enjoy it."

Oh yeah, i finally got my Post Grad certificate through the door today- proof that i didn't waste last year.

seriously! how many bar-ends do you need?

There is a guy at work who cycles to work everyday on this monstrosity. He has basically bought every piece of bling kit he could afford and put it ALL onto this Orange P7 frame. (notice the Full XT groupset, Pace forks, Easton bars, Brooks swift saddle, Thomson finishing kit, Candy SL's...the list goes on)

It can be clearly seen that putting as many fancy bits of kit as you can afford onto your bike obviously doesn't mean it's going to be nice to look at, to ride...

Oh yeah, and remember don't bother cutting down the steerer tube- take up that excess space with loads over-priced Hope carbon spacers!!

Riding wit my dad

Superb day had, we rode just over 50miles in and around deepest Ayrshire. We had a few laughs, the weather was great, the cycling was good...what else can you ask for?

sadly, i had to come back to paint the house, but with good memories.

Here's a pic of me sporting my free Gore top and my dad flying the flag for team Banesto...Indurain eat your face off!

new saddle time

The good thing about the Rat getting a bit of an overhaul at the moment, i've decided to get rid of the awful saddle it has been sporting for far too long and i've got a bit of time to think about what i want to replace it with.

This is one of my options:

Cutting (Butchering) the edges off a Brooks B17 to give it that aerodynamic look, also takes a bit of weight off too.

Looking to do something a bit different, needs to be old skool looking to go with my new (old) dura ace cranks.

Make your own simpson charater

I tried to make me, i dont think it turned out that well. I did the best i could with the materials i had available. (also, i wish i wasn't colour blind)

go here

The Honey Badger

Honey badgers are similar in size and build to the European badger. They are heavily built, and have a broad head with small eyes, no external ears, and a relatively blunt snout. The legs are short, but the forelegs are well-developed, and the fore feet are equipped with strong claws which can be up to 40mm long.

Interesting...

How great is this little guy?

Bringing in the hire bikes used to be fun

Bit of maintainance...

Seeing that both the rat and the rig are off the road at the moment, i thought it the perfect time to do a few things that have been on the cards for a while now.
