Why?

Upon discussing the topic of the "Franken Bike" with Badger, i found this little beauty. What looks like a Trek Y-frame and a bit of obscure welding to make this monstrosity of a road bike.

NHS?!

I have been told that due to it being 2 months since my accident (see here) i'm going to need intensive physiotherapy to gain my full range of movement. Whilst sitting in the waiting room waiting to be seen by a doctor, i could hear panicked voices where the nurses had lost my report card and x-rays from my previous visit! I then had to tell my story to 3 different doctors while each of them were putting my arm into all sorts of pain inflicting positions.

I told them what had happened and that i was dismissed from my follow up appointment with no idea of what i had to do to help my recovery, they agreed and said " yeah thats what i would do, although it wouldn't guarantee that you get full recovery" WTF!!!

To top this whole experience off, i was told that i could get an x-ray but the doctor didn't want to waste the radiation on me. Now what the hell is the NHS all about? Promoting recovery my arse!

So now after a few more examinations of my arm, i've been told that i need intensive Physio. So, i waited until a reluctant doctor gave me the number to phone for a physiotherapist ( i've still to see if its going to cost me or not).

So, what do i know? not a lot more than what i already knew- i may have a fractured radial head, which is affecting the overall movement. I also have tennis elbow, which is a burser (pocket of fluid) that again restricts my movement and makes things very painful.

Why did it take 2 months after the accident to find these things out? I have lost all faith in the NHS, i just hope i can afford to go private at some point.

Jones Bars

Badger, the lucky little monkey, has managed to wangle a set of demo H-bars. I'm looking forward to seeing how they feel, what i'm not looking forward to is when i really like em and have to fork out a load of cash for my own pair!!! At £125 naked (without bar tape)...thats 2 Chris King headsets.

Mint Sauce

Back in the day, when i used to subscribe to MBUK. The Mint Sauce cartoons on the back page steadily became the only decent thing to set your peepers on.

New Saddle

Hope this one won't hurt as much as the SLR.

Balloch Day Out

We went for a day trip to Balloch Park today. It seemed strange that although the view over Loch Lomond was amazing, i took photos of everything but the Loch???

We stopped off at Loch Lomond Shores on our way home. Get a load of the basins in the bogs...sprinkler systems. (i was the only one in the toilet at the time this photo was taken, by the way).

how much more polishing??

In order to obtain this mirror effect, i think i'm gonna need another idea, the dremel (teamed up with wet or dry sandpaper) seems to work a treat. I just need something bigger, burlier. There is a lathe in the garage, sadly we don't have the connections needed to create this sought after shine.

any ideas??

Shiny Cranks

I polished up my Saint Cranks this morning, yes they were completely black at 8am. They need to be finished off but this is how far i've got.
